Erie, PA - Generals Captain Boone Jenner led the way with 2 goals and a pair of assists in Oshawa's 7-4 victory over Erie Saturday night. Lucas Lessio also had a 4 point performance in front of 4,911 fans at the Tullio Arena. Four Generals picked up their first goals of the season en route to a dominant win on the road.

The Generals welcomed right winger Nicklas Jensen back into the line-up after a very successful camp with the Vancouver Canucks. Scott Valentine who signed yesterday with the Nashville Predators and Andy Andreoff both remain away at AHL training camps.

Dan Altshuller made his second start in as many nights. He looked confident and composed in the first period and made an excellent extended right pad save robbing Otters' forward Brett Thompson of a sure goal.

Erie drew first blood at 10:42. Greg Mckegg roofed a power play goal right under the crossbar giving the Otters their first lead of the season.

Less than two minutes later, Oshawa stormed back on Boone Jenner's first goal of the season, a deflection that beat Otters' goaltender, Tyson Teichmann. Chris Carlisle was credited with the assist, and he also had a strong defensive period catching Otters' Mike Cazzola who was on a partial breakaway.

Nicklas Jensen made an immediate impact in his debut lighting the lamp at 1:37 of the second giving the Generals a 2-1 lead. Jensen's first of the season was a wrister from Lessio and Jenner.

After Erie evened the score, Generals' defenseman, Colin Suellentrop, recaptured the lead beating Teichmann stick side with a wrist shot. The goal came on a counter attack after Erie had blown a 3-on-1 the other way.

Altshuller looked sharp in the second frame making a solid late period stop on Erie's Jake Evans. However, Erie's power play tied the game at 3 when Sondre Olden's "knuckle shot" beat the Generals goaltender at 18:26. After two periods of hockey, the score was 3-3 with Oshawa outshooting Erie 19-18.

The third period was all Oshawa. The Generals stepped on the accelerator when Boone Jenner deflected a Lucas Lessio cross feed right under the pad of Teichmann. A few minutes later, a defensive miscommunication allowed Josh Graves to beat the Otters' goaltender stick side making the score 5-3 Gens. Lessio and Uvira added additional markers, and Altshuller made 16 saves in the period ensuring that a comeback was not in the cards. The third period came to a close with Oshawa up by a field goal, The Generals winning 7-4.

Oshawa outshot Erie 36-35. Dan Altshuller made 31 saves putting together another solid performance.

Boone Jenner and Lucas Lessio were the first and second star selections.

The Generals will play the next three games on the road starting Wednesday October 5th against the Belleville Bulls

The Generals next home game is Thanksgiving Monday October 10th vs. Kingston at the General Motors Centre. Start time is 2:05 PM.
