Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - The Flint Generals of the United Hockey League prepare to deliver another message.....one of caring for the children. The players will be visiting local area hospitals next week to deliver toy Teddy Bears to area youngsters who are recuperating from illness during the Christmas holiday.
The Generals are delivering 397 Teddy Bears collected as a result of the "Teddy Bear Toss" on Saturday, December 11, 2004 at Perani Arena. Players will be visiting Hurley Medical Center on Monday, December 20, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. and Genesys Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, December 21, 2004 at 1:30 p.m.
"We are very fortunate to have the opportunity to give back to our community and this is one of the small ways we can continue to contribute," said Vice President & Head Coach of the Generals, Robbie S. Nichols. "No one wants to stay at the hospital, especially during the holidays. We hope our visits will brighten the days of those young people and make them feel a little better with the warm wishes of a happy holiday and a quick return home to their families and friends."
The Generals will be making plans to visit various locations for Teddy Bear distribution in the upcoming week heading in to the Christmas holidays. For more details, please contact the Generals' Jeremy Torrey at (810) 742-9422, ext. 201.
The Flint Generals return home to Perani Arena on Wednesday, December 22, 2004 against the Muskegon Fury at 7:05 p.m. The players will be wearing special Christmas jerseys that will be auctioned off during the game. Tickets for any and all regular season home games are on sale at any TicketMaster location.
