Rockford IceHogs News Release

Fraser, Mich.-The IceHogs controlled the tempo of the first two periods, but found themselves in a two goal hole at the first intermission. Mechanics winger David Bonk was set up for the first goal of the game at 3:02 of the opening frame by forward Joe Burton. Later in the period, Chad Peck finished off a breakaway beating Hogs goalie Michel Robinson at 18:20.

Rockford didn ‚¬â„¢t hop on the board until the 16:08 mark of the second period. Rookie center Miguel Lafleche won a face-off in the Motor City zone to defenseman Rod Aldoff, who skated in and flipped in his first tally of the season.

The Hogs then had to wait until late in the third period to get the equalizer. After a couple of power play opportunities fell through, center J.C. Ruid notched the game tying goal at 17:49 of the final period, set up by Jason Ralph and J.F. Dufour.

In the extra session, the Mechanics received goals from Burton and Bonk to pick up the two points. Robinson turned away 23 Mechanics shots to pick up the standings point. Both clubs finished 0-for-6 on the power play.

Next Home Game: Sunday, December 19 vs. Motor City Mechanics. Game time is 1:05 p.m. The Hogs look for revenge on the Mechanics at the Rockford MetroCentre. Sunday is another Family Four Pack Days. Fans can pick up four tickets, four hot dogs and four soft drinks for only $40.
