Greensboro Generals News Release

GREENSBORO GENERALS

The Generals haven't played since last Saturday, when they fell in overtime to the Charlotte Checkers 3-2. The Generals got off to a quick start, with Mark Turner scoring a shorthanded goal just 2:49 into the game for a 1-0 lead. The lead held up until the second period, when the Checkers retaliated with a pair of power play goals less than four minutes apart to take a 2-1 lead into the third period. Greensboro's Geno Parrish forced the extra session with his first goal of the season 7:37 into the third period, but Charlotte's Dusty Jamieson won the game at 2:20 of overtime, forcing the Generals to settle for a point in the standings. Jamie Hodson stopped 40 of 43 shots in net.

ATLANTIC CITY BOARDWALK BULLIES

The Boardwalk Bullies dropped a 7-1 decision at home to the Reading Royals on Tuesday night. After trailing 1-0 through one period, Atlantic City was blown out of the water in the second period. The Bullies allowed four second period goals, including a natural hat trick from Reading's Tom Rouleau, and trailed 5-0 entering the third period. The Boardwalk Bullies allowed two more goals in the third period, eventually falling behind 7-0 before avoiding the shutout on a J. F. Caudron score with just 2:11 left in the game.

NEXT HOME GAME: After a rare Friday night off, the Generals return to the Coliseum to host the Florida Everblades on Saturday night at 7:30. The four game homestand wraps up with games next Thursday night (Thanksgiving night) at 7:00 against the Columbus Cottonmouths and Friday night at 7:30 against head coach Rick Adduono's former team, the South Carolina Stingrays. All Thursday games are "Thirsty Thursday" college nights, with dollar drafts being poured all night courtesy of R. H. Barringer and a post-game concert following the game.
