Greensboro Generals News Release

GREENSBORO -- The Greensboro Generals had a four-game home winning streak and a four-game unbeaten mark snapped with a 4-2 loss at the hands of the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies. The Generals held the Boardwalk Bullies scoreless for over two periods. However, after being frustrated by a strong defensive effort by Greensboro, the onslaught began with Atlantic City scoring three goals over a 3:05 span to give them a lead that they would not relinquish.

In front of 3,727 in attendance, the Generals scored two first period goals. The first came on an even strength goal at the 14:39 mark of the period by Shane Campbell, recording his second goal of the season. The second goal came on a power-play opportunity, when Pete Gardiner scored his team-leading 10th goal with exactly a minute to go in the first. Atlantic City would counter in the third period, while scoring four unanswered goals for the eventual victory. The first of these goals came on a shorthanded conversion by Jin Henkel at the 9:07 mark of the third. With 7:57 remaining in the third, Atlantic City would knot the score at 2-2 on a goal by J.F. Caudron, and just nine seconds later Henkel would score again, putting Atlantic City ahead for good 3-2. The fourth and final goal of the game came with 21 seconds remaining as the Boardwalk Bullies' Paul Spadafora would tack on an empty net goal.

The Generals will face the Florida Everglades for the first ever meeting at the Greensboro Coliseum on Saturday, with a 7:30 start time. The Generals offer Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America to come out for Scout Night with the team.
