Chattanooga Lookouts News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - The Lookouts jumped off to an early lead, but the pesky Jackson Generals fought back and opportunistically took advantage of a ninth-inning wild pitch to come away with a 4-3 win over Chattanooga in Friday night action at AT&T Field. Chattanooga entered the scoreboard first. Brian Cavazos-Galvez led off the second inning with a single, swiped second, and proceeded to third on an errant throw to second by catcher Jesus Sucre. Gorman Erickson followed with a long single off of the base of the right field wall to plate Cavazos-Galvez. Erickson, however, was thrown out try to stretch the hit into a double on the play. The Lookouts added another run in the third inning. Brad Coon began the rally and eventually came home on back-to-back singles from Elian Herrera and Scott Van Slyke. Jackson manufactured their first run of the game in the top of the fourth inning. Vicent Catricala reached first on a fielding error by shortstop Ivan Ochoa and scampered to third on a subsequent Rich Poythress single. With runners on the corners, James McOwen hit a sacrifice fly to right field, scoring Catricala in the process. A Coon sacrifice fly, which was prefaced by two walks and a hit by pitch, in the bottom of the fourth frame put the score at 3-1. A two-run shot by Sucre in the fifth inning tied up the score, 3-3. The game remained knotted up until the top of the ninth, when a wild pitch by Lookouts reliever Josh Wall (4-5) allowed Johermyn Chavez to race home successfully for the winning run. Stephen Pryor (1-1) pitched the final two frames for the Generals to pick up the win. The Chattanooga Lookouts and Jackson Generals wrap up their five-game series at 7:15 P.M., tomorrow. Tickets for this game or any other Lookouts home game can be purchased at the Lookouts Box Office at AT&T Field, online at www.lookouts.com, or by calling (423) 267-4849.
