Gauvreau Loaned To Bridgeport; Hutchins Activated

BILOXI, Miss. – ECHL All-Star center Brent Gauvreau (GOHV-roh) of the Mississippi Sea Wolves has been loaned to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers of the American Hockey League, while left wing Jeff Hutchins has been activated off the 7-day injured reserve.

Gauvreau, 23, was selected as a starter for the Western Conference at the 2004 Par-A-Dice ECHL All-Star Game and registered an assist in the contest on January 21 at Peoria. The 6-foot-3 and 210-pound Gauvreau is tied for first in the ECHL with 54 points and seven game-winning goals. A native of Sudbury, Ontario, Gauvreau is also first overall in the league with a +30 rating and tied for second with 35 assists. He is tied for the team-lead with 20 goals.

Hutchins, 25, is tied for the Sea Wolves lead with 20 goals and is tops on the team with nine power-play goals. The 6-foot and 205-pound Hutchins has posted 36 points in 38 games with Mississippi this season. He has also appeared in two games with the Houston Aeros of the AHL, accumulating two penalty minutes.

Hutchins and the Sea Wolves hit the ice at 4:05 p.m. today against the Columbus Cottonmouths at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum.
