Chiefs Finally Win In Toledo

Toledo, OH- The Johnstown Chiefs picked up their first win in Toledo in almost two years Sunday afternoon, as they defeated the Storm 4-2 at the Sports Arena. The Chiefs last win in Toledo was on March 29, 2002 (7 games).

Steve Hildenbrand's 12th goal of the season, 4:47 into the third broke a 2-2 tie and gave the Chiefs the lead. Jay Langager gave the Chiefs the go ahead goal at 7:25 of the final frame. Dmitri Tarabrin scored his third goal in two games earlier in the second period. Willie Levesque scored the other Johnstown goal. Levesque was re-assigned to the Chiefs earlier in the day from the AHL's Cleveland Barons. Morten Ask and Landon Bathe scored for Toledo.

Chiefs goaltender David Currie got his eighth win of the season making 29 saves. Toledo goaltender Doug Teskey made 37 saves in the loss.

The Chiefs remain in fourth place in the Northern division, improving their record to 23-15-4. The Chiefs trail third place Peoria by three points. Toledo falls to 17-20-4.

The Chiefs are back on home ice this weekend with a pair of games. Friday night they host the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bullies and Saturday night the Reading Royals. Face-off for both games is 7:05 p.m. For tickets call (814) 536-5156 or 1-800-CHF-TIXX.
