Lafayette, LA - On Ragin' Cajun Night, the Louisiana IceGators traded goals with the Mississippi Sea Wolves all game. It was Darryl Campbell striking the final blow early in the 3rd, giving the visitors a 4-3 win.
In the first period, the Wolves struck first scoring their 2nd power play goal in 28 attempts against the Gators this season. ECHL scoring king Louis Dumont picked up the puck in the left corner, skated toward the middle and fired a wrist shot under the cross bar for his 15th of the season. The goal at 5:21 was assisted by Anthony Battaglia and Mike Jarmuth. The Gators dominated the rest of the period and broke through at 16:05. Wes Mason fired a wrist shot from the right circle. Phil Sauve made the save but Chris Thompson pounced on the rebound and fired it home for his 15th of the year and a 1-1 tie through the first 20 minutes of play.
The Sea Wolves power play struck again early in the 2nd. At 1:07, Dumont centered the puck out of the corner to a streaking Anthony Battaglia, who tipped the puck past Nathan Marsters for his 20th of the season and a 2-1 Mississippi lead.
