
Pride fall 6-0 in fight-filled game

FLORENCE, SC -- It was like old times for the Pee Dee Pride and South Carolina Stingrays on Friday night at the Florence Civic Center. The two teams combined for 227 penalty minutes, 10 game misconducts, and 16 fights as the Stingrays downed the Pride 6-0 in front of 3,928 fans.
The majority of the PIMs and misconducts took place at the 20:00 mark of the second period, where there was a combined 102 penalty minutes, and eight game misconducts.
Ed Courtenay was the offensive star for the Stingrays, tallying two goals and four assists. Brad Parsons added a hat trick, and Justin Eddy turned aside all 39 Pride shots for his first professional shutout.
Pee Dee was 0-for-2 on the power play, running its drought on the man advantage to 0-for-26 over the last eight games.

Pee Dee returns home on Sunday, hosting the Charlotte Checkers in a 2:30 p.m. matinee. It's another Sunday Kids' Day at the Lion's Den, with 200 and 400 level seats just $2.50 for kids 12 and under. In addition, kids' meals (hot dog, potato chips, and small soda) are available for an additional $2.50.
