Wisconsin Rapids Rafters News Release
Wisconsin Rapids, WI-July 26th, 2011. The second game of the split doubleheader on Saturday, July 30th is set to feature a Schoep's Garden Gnome giveaway to 500 fans in attendance. There was a typo in the pocket schedule that originally read that all fans would receive the giveaway at the 6:05 PM game, however it will only be given to the first 500 fans. Gates to the regularly scheduled game will open at 5:05 p.m. for McCain Foods Night.
Following the distribution of the 500 garden gnomes to package holders and fans, the Rafters plan to give away Schoep's Rosco P. Rafter Bobbleheads to ensure as many fans receive a giveaway as possible. The Rafters will not be able to accommodate all fans, but will do their best to get a giveaway to as many fans as possible on Saturday night.
Two, separate, 9-inning contests will be played at Witter Field Saturday, with the first commencing at 12:05 p.m. for Solarus Customer Appreciation Day. Gates to game one will open at 11:05 a.m. and the stadium will be cleared out following the completion of the first contest. Any current customer of Solarus can bring in an old bill to the Rafters ticket office and receive a FREE ticket for the first game of the twin bill. A family can bring in a Solarus bill and receive up to 4 FREE tickets for their family. A person can only redeem one bill and will need to present a photo ID, along with the bill, in order to receive the tickets. There will be a $50 Solarus gift card given away every inning during the first game, with a $100 Solarus gift card awarded to one lucky fan at the completion of the 12:05 p.m. contest.
All ticket holders for the postponed game, dated June 22, are able to exchange their ticket for either game of the doubleheader by presenting the rainout ticket at the Rafters box office for a ticket to the 12:05 p.m. Game 1. Fans can stop by the ticket office at Witter Field, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to switch out their tickets.
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are members of the 16-team summer collegiate Northwoods League. The Rafters will play a 70 game schedule with 35 home games in 2011. Purchase tickets online at raftersbaseball.com, by calling the office at 715-424-5400, or by stopping into Witter Field.
