LAKEWOOD, NJ - Julian Garcia threw five scoreless innings as the BlueClaws topped Greensboro 6-2 on Tuesday night at FirstEnergy Park. Lakewood used a five run second inning to pull away to their 10th win in their last 13 games.

The BlueClaws (20-11/61-39) are now 22-games over .500 for the first time since 2010. They've taken the first two meetings in the series from Greensboro (14-17/48-52).

The BlueClaws scored five times in the bottom of the second to jump into the lead. The inning started with four straight hits including an RBI single by Quincy Nieporte and a two-run triple from Colby Fitch. Dalton Guthrie added an RBI single for the 5-0 lead.

A Jake Scheiner RBI single in the fourth put Lakewood up 6-0.

Garcia (4-2) came out after five innings, and Greensboro got two runs in the sixth off Tyler Fallwell, making his second appearance as a BlueClaw and first at FirstEnergy Park. Garcia struck out eight over his five innings of work.

Luis Carrasco came on in the eighth and struck out four over two scoreless innings.

Dalton Guthrie Simon Muzziotti, Jake Sceiner, and Quincy Nieporte each had two hiths for Lakewood while Scheiner and Fitch drove in two runs apiece in victory.

The BlueClaws and Grasshoppers continue their series on Wednesday at 11:05 am. RHP Spencer Howard (6-7, 4.46) starts for Lakewood opposite RHP Colton Hock (9-3, 2.92).
