September 3, 2022 - Eastern League (EL) - Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators pounded out 14 hits on their way to an 8-5 over the Richmond Flying Squirrels Saturday night in Richmond. Wilson Garcia hit a two-run home run in the first inning which was immediately followed by a solo shot off the bat of Trey Harris. Richmond, though, rallied for three of their own in the first. Eventually the Senators pulled away for their third win in five games this week.

Jake Irvin started and lasted just two innings. He allowed four runs on seven hits. From there, the Sens bullpen did a number on the Squirrels. Steven Fuentes earned the win, tossing four shutout innings allowing just one hit. He also tossed two double-play balls. Carson Teel went one-third of an inning and allowed a run on three hits. Andrew Lee finished Teel's inning, going 1.2 scoreless innings. Zach Brzykcy pitched a scoreless ninth for his ninth save this season.

Five different Senators had multi-hit games led by Omar Meregildo with three. He also drove in a run and scored once. Darren Baker had two hits, drove in a run, and scored twice. Garcia had a single to go with his home run. Robert Hassell III had two hits including a double and drove in a run. Drew Millas hit a two-run shot in the fifth and singled.

Harrisburg homered three times in the game and went back-to-back in the first inning for the third time this season. Garcia extended his hit streak to 14 games with his home run in the first inning.
