LINCOLN (10-17-2)
The Stars are looking to snap a three-game losing streak (0-2-1) as they take on the Musketeers for the second time in two days. Lincoln fell 3-2 last night in Sioux City in a shootout, gaining a crucial point after falling down two goals after the first period. Noah Laba scored his team-leading third power play goal of the season late in the second period. In the third period, Clay Hanus tied the game with his second tally in as many games. Cross Hanas recorded his first multi-point game in the USHL with two assists. Ryan Ouellette is 1-1-1 against the Musketeers this season and turned in a tremendous outing last night, stopping 40 shots.
SIOUX CITY (15-17-1)
The Musketeers are 2-2 in their last four games and have won two consecutive games against Lincoln: last night's 3-2 shootout win and a 3-1 victory on February 13th at the Ice Box. Griffin Ludtke scored his first USHL goal last night in his 33rd game of the 2020-21 regular season. Matteo Costantini notched his sixth goal of the year and also scored the game-winning goal in the fifth round of the shootout. Akira Schmid stopped 27 saves in his second victory against the Stars this season. He made 36 saves on 37 shots on February 13th.
THINGS TO WATCH FOR
James Stefan has two goals and an assist through three games against Sioux City this season ... The Stars controlled the special teams battle last night, going 2-for-5 on the power play and 4-for-4 on the penalty kill ... Sioux City has not scored on their last 10 chances with the man-advantage ... Costantini has six points (two goals, four assists) against the Stars in three games this season ... Ouellette has posted a .919 save percentage in his last four apperances.
