Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release
GRAND CHUTE, WI - Severe weather in the vicinity of Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium forced the suspension of Saturday's game between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the Quad Cities River Bandits. The River Bandits were leading 6-1 at the end of the third inning when
Quad Cities knocked Timber Rattler starting pitcher Nathan Adcock out of the game in the first inning. Adcock walked the lead-off batter and allowed a single to Pete Kozma. Charlie Kingrey, the third batter of the inning followed with a three-run homer to left field.
Then, an error, a single, and a walk loaded the bases with no outs for the River Bandits. Adcock got the first out of the inning on a force out at the plate. But, Luis De La Cruz singled to left and two runs scored for a 5-0 lead.
That was when Jake Wild relieved Adcock. He allowed a base hit to reload the bases. Nick Peoples, who started the game with a walk, drove in the sixth run of the inning with an RBI grounder.
Wisconsin got one run in the bottom of the first. Juan Diaz doubled with one out. He scored on a two out single by Rob Garth.
The game stayed 6-1 through the end of the third. Then, the rain, thunder, and lightning started and did not stop.
The completion of the suspended game will begin with the River Bandits batting in the top of the fourth inning at 12:05pm on Sunday afternoon.
The final game of the series is scheduled for seven innings and will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended game Sunday afternoon. Phillippe Aumont (4-3, 1.47) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Eduardo Sanchez (5-1, 3.58) is set to start for the River Bandits.
