Albany Devils News Release

ALBANY, NY -- For the first time this season, the Albany Devils failed to earn a point when leading after two periods. David Wohlberg and Mike Sislo's goals led to a 2-1 Albany advantage after the second, but a pair of Rochester American tallies in the third period resulted in a 3-2 setback.

Wohlberg's goal was his third of the season, while Sislo's was his 12th. Eric Gelinas, Mattias Tedenby, Joe Whitney and Jon Merrill each notched assists. In goal, Jeff Frazee made 33 saves on 36 attempts.

Rochester's Zemgus Girgensons, Cody McCormick and Mark Mancari all contributed goals and netminder Matt Hackett made 36 saves on 38 shots.

Girgensons put the Americans ahead 1-0 at 14:05 of the first with a power-play goal, but the Devils responded with two goals of their own. Wohlberg collected a rebound on a shot from Gelinas and fought off the Rochester defenseman beating Hackett with a falling-down backhand. Sislo's one-timer, while on the power play, on a cross-ice feed from Whitney put the Devils ahead 2-1 at 14:27.

McCormick brought the game level again at 2:05 of the third, scoring from just outside the crease and Mancari's power-play goal at 11:06 stood as the game winner.
