February 24, 2019 - Ontario Hockey League (OHL)
Oshawa Generals News Release

The Generals finish off their weekend at home tonight with a matchup against the Saginaw Spirit. Heading into the contest off Friday's big win at home over the Steelheads, the Gens hold an eight-game winning streak and a season record of 38-18-3-0. Aiming to keep the wins rolling and extend their winning streak to nine victories in a row, the Gens will look for another two-point performance tonight at home against the Spirit.

Tonight's meeting with Saginaw will mark the second and final time the two teams will face off against each other this season. In their first matchup, the Gens came away with a big win on the road after defeating the Spirit 5-1. With the final game of the series tonight, the Gens will look to complete the season sweep against the Spirit at home.

Picking up at least one point in their last eleven games and riding an eight-game winning streak, the Gens hold 79 points in 59 games on the season. They currently sit in third place in the eastern conference with the second most points behind only the Ottawa 67's. Meanwhile, the Saginaw Spirit find themselves in a similar situation to the Gens but in the western conference, holding second in their division and third in the conference with a season record of 38-15-2-3.

Two Gens forwards who had big performances in the first game against the Spirit in the team's 5-1 win include Nando Eggenberger and Ty Tullio. Eggenberger put on an offensive show during the contest, recording 2 goals and adding a helper for an impressive 3-point night. With the winger's past performance against the Spirit and his current hot streak of 5 straight games of tallying at least one goal, look for Eggenberger to be a force up front for the Gens tonight. Tullio also played a strong game against Saginaw the first time around, potting a goal of his own and notching an assist. Keep an eye on the forward to aim for the same result in tonight's contest.

Head to the Tribute Communities Centre tonight for the 6:05pm puck drop to cheer on the Gens as they take on the Saginaw Spirit! After tonight, the team will head on the road up north next weekend for a match against the Greyhounds on Friday and the Wolves on Saturday.
