Game Preview and Notes: Barnstormers vs. Blizzard

DES MOINES - The Iowa Barnstormers will kick off the home portion of their 2016 schedule at Wells Fargo Arena against the Green Bay Blizzard on Friday, February 26th. Kickoff is set for 7:05pm.

This week's matchup between the Iowa Barnstormers and the Green Bay Blizzard is their first of the 2016 season. Last season, the teams met a total of three times of which the Barnstormers won two matchups.

The Barnstormers kicked off their second season in the Indoor Football League (IFL) with a 56-50 win over the Colorado Crush. Quarterback Donovan Porterie, who played for Green Bay last season and led the league with 2670 yards and 55 touchdowns, threw for 191 yards and three touchdowns in the win at Colorado. Receiver Lemans Casimier caught two of the touchdown strikes while running back Robbie Rouse also saw play, rushing for two scores for the Barnstormers. Meanwhile, the Blizzard dropped their season opener 39-15 at Cedar Rapids.

The Barnstormers home opener will feature drink specials including $5 tall boys and specialty drinks through the first quarter. Fans may purchase Iowa Barnstormers single-game tickets online at www.hyveetix.com or at the Wells Fargo Arena Box Office located at Wells Fargo Arena in downtown Des Moines. The Box Office is open Monday through Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by stopping in to the Barnstormers office, also located in Wells Fargo Arena.

Individual Iowa Barnstormers game tickets will be priced from $12.00 to $70.00 for regular season games. Fans should also remember that 2016 Barnstormers season tickets are currently on sale. Season tickets to all 8 home games are available for as low as $80 per seat.
