Cedar Rapids, IA - The Cedar Rapids Titans (1-0) are on the road to Sioux Falls to take on the reigning Indoor Football League champion Sioux Falls Storm (1-0). This will be the eleventh contest between the two teams; Sioux Falls leads the series 8-2.
Rookie quarterback Dylan Favre will get his second professional start after leading the Titans to a season-opening win last weekend over the Green Bay Blizzard. Favre completed 12 of 19 passes for 97 yards in last weekend's matchup. He threw one touchdown to rookie wide receiver Eric "Tank" Thomas while also throwing an interception.
Cedar Rapids newcomer Waymon James made his presence known last weekend, finding the end zone three times on 16 carries. He rushed for 51 yards averaging 3.2 yards per carry.
Through one game, Ryan Balentine leads the receiving corps having notched five receptions for 45 yards against his former team. Balentine also recorded two rushes for nine yards and one touchdown. Indoor football veteran Jared Elmore caught four passes for 35 yards while Thomas added two receptions for 17 yards.
The Titans defense registered eight sacks, with defensive linemen Jermiah Price and Xzavie Jackson recording three sacks each. After adding four tackles, three and a half tackles-for-loss, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery, Price was named the Week 1 Vidswap.com Defensive Player of the Week.
Sioux Falls won their Week 1 contest over the Billings Wolves in easy fashion, winning 51-28 in Billings. Quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed nine of 15 passes for 131 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception.
Rookie Angelo Pease carried the ball six times for 29 yards and one touchdown while Brown added an additional touchdown on the ground. Veteran Mike Tatum led Sioux Falls in receiving, recording five receptions for 79 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Korey Williams caught two passes for 24 yards and one touchdown in his return to Sioux Falls after spending time in the Canadian Football League. Williams also added 63 yards on two kick returns, one returning being taken back for a touchdown.
Tomorrow night's game will be played at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, SD. Doors open to the public at 6:00 p.m. and kick off is at 7:05 p.m. All Titans road games are streamed online through IFLLive.tv.
