PCL1 Reno Aces

Game Notes vs. Memphis

June 8, 2019 - Pacific Coast League (PCL1)
Reno Aces News Release

Tonight's Game: After dropping game one of the four-game set against Memphis, the Aces will send righty Taylor Widener to the hill. Widener last pitched in Albuquerque on June 2 and allowed seven earned runs in a loss. A win tonight would give the South Carolina alum the team-lead in wins with four. Memphis will counter with flamethrower Alex Reyes. Reyes entered 2019 as the No. 1 prospect in the St. Louis Cardinals' system and has appeared in four games this season for the big-league club allowing five earned runs over three innings.

Notes:

Welcome Jake Lamb: Arizona Diamondbacks infielder Jake Lamb is with the Reno Aces tonight on MLB Rehab after a quad strain sidelined him to begin the season. The 2017 National League All-Star (30 HR, 105 RBIs, 89 R) played eight games with Triple-A Reno in 2014 and 2015 hitting .448 (13-for-29) with one home run, seven RBIs and three runs scored. The University of Washington product is active in the community with two charities to his name. "Jake's Corner" provides local groups the chance to attend Washington Huskies' baseball games free of charge and "Kids with Courage" where Lamb and his D-backs' teammates host families affected with pediatric cancer once a month at Chase Field in Phoenix.

The 6ix: Aces manager Chris Cron is a proud father after Kevin homered in Toronto during the D-backs' 8-2 win yesterday for the first of his career. The city North of the border has been good to the Cron family. C.J. Cron, Kevin's older brother, also hit his first career home run in Toronto (May 10, 2014). Chris had two career Major League hits. Both of which came while playing in the city of Toronto.

I'm Hungry: The Reno Aces are proud to announce four specialty food items for tonight's Star Wars themed game. The Empire Burger is a five-ounce patty with cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, bacon, an onion ring, and BBQ Aoli. The Lightsaber Dog is a 20-inch hot dog with BBQ sauce and fried onions. The Fighter Tots are tots with Ghel's cheese, Pico, and chopped bacon bits. And for dessert, Force Funnel Fries which include French fries topped with marshmallow fluff and chocolate sauce.
