Hershey Bears News Release

In a series that went from conservative to wide open in just 60 minutes Sunday, the BEARS and River Rats square up again Monday for Game 4 of their East Division Semi-Final series. HERSHEY can put a three games to one stranglehold on the series with a win tonight in upstate New York, with a Game 5 looming Wednesday in the Adirondacks.

After a pair of 3-2 games at GIANT Center last week, goals poured in on both sides early Sunday in what eventually became a 6-5 HERSHEY win over Albany. The BEARS fell behind three different times in the first period alone, but rallied each time and finally took the lead in the second on a goal from Joey Tenute. Albany battled to the final horn, with Frederic Cassivi stopping 26 of 28 shots in the final 40 minutes to preserve the victory. Kyle Wilson extended his points streak to three straight in the postseason as the BEARS regained home-ice in the series. All three games in the series have been decided by one goal, with one game going to overtime.

In addition to the BEARS and Rats Monday, the other East Division Semi-Final returns to action. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton is in Norfolk Monday for Game 3 of their East Semi-Final with the Norfolk Admirals. The teams are tied at one game apiece after Norfolk claimed Game 1 at Wachovia Arena Friday 5-2. The Penguins rallied to tie the series with a 5-2 win of their own Saturday evening.

Monday's Game 4 can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network (100.1 FM, 1490-AM and 960-AM). John Walton has the call from the Glens Falls Civic Center beginning with the pregame show at 6:40 p.m. A reminder that there is no B2 video feed for the games in Glens Falls, but B2 coverage will again be available this Saturday night if a Game 6 is needed at GIANT Center. Tickets for HERSHEY'S next playoff game are on sale at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911.
