Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

HAMILTON, ON - The Hamilton Bulldogs announced today that the Edmonton Oilers have reassigned Troy Bodie to the club from the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL.

Bodie, 22, has appeared in 20 games with the Bulldogs this season, collecting an assist and 29 penalty minutes. The native of Portage la Prairie, Manitoba, played in his first American Hockey League game on February 23rd, 2007 against the Syracuse Crunch and picked up his first-career AHL point, an assist, on March 30th, 2007 versus the Grand Rapids Griffins.

The 6-foot-4, 219-pound winger played in all six of the Stockton Thunder's 2007 playoff games, registering two assists and six penalty minutes. The Idaho Steelheads eliminated Stockton from the ECHL playoffs in the National Conference Quarterfinals. In 46 games with Stockton in the ECHL's regular season, Bodie collected 38 points (21-17-38) and 80 penalty minutes with a plus-14 rating this season.

Bodie, who was drafted by the Edmonton Oilers in the 9th round, 278th overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, is not on the Bulldogs' Clear Day roster but is one of Hamilton's players listed in residence. A player in residence can be used in the Calder Cup playoffs if three members of a team's Clear Day roster are injured, recalled or suspended.
