Allen is 3-2-0 against Tulsa this season
Last Game - Greger Hanson scored two power play goals, while Chad Costello added a goal and three assists as the Allen Americans defeated the Wichita Thunder on Sunday afternoon 4-1 at Intrust Bank Arena. Americans Rookie Goalie Jamie Murray stopped 42 of 43 shots to earn the win.
Head-To-Head - This will be fifth matchup of the season between the two clubs. Allen has won the last two meetings at the BOK Center in overtime. The teams will not play again until early February 2nd.
Red-Hot Goalies - Americans netminders Riley Gill & Jamie Murray have put together back to back wins allowing a goal each in the last two games. Gill was named the ECHL Goalie of the Week for December 5th and 12th. Gill was also named the 5th Street Pizza Player of the Month for November.
Twas the Final 3 before Christmas - The Allen Americans will play three games this week before the Christmas break. Allen will play in Tulsa tonight and then return home to play Idaho on Thursday and Friday at Allen Event Center.
Back on Top - Chad Costello's four-point game on Sunday put him in the lead in the ECHL scoring race. Costello has 42 points (13 goals & 29 assists) and is three up on second place.
Power Play Comes to Life - The Americans have five power play goals in their last two games, and five in their last ten opportunities. The Americans power play is up to 20th overall in the league at 12.9 %. Greger Hanson leads the Americans in power play goals with five.
Nine Again -Americans Co-Captain Chad Costello has a nine-game point streak for the second time this season. He has seven goals and ten assists during the streak,
Tulsa Oilers Notes - The Tulsa Oilers ended their three-game losing streak last night in Missouri. Tulsa has dropped five straight home games, with their last win on home-ice coming on November 26th. The Oilers are led by Phil Brewer in scoring with 18 points.
Shark Tank - The San Jose Sharks currently lead the Pacific Division with a record of 19-12-1. The Sharks are 7-3-0 in their last ten games. The Sharks are back in action on Tuesday night at home against the Calgary Flames. San Jose won 3 of 4 games on their recent road trip. Brent Burns leads the Sharks in points with 30 (13 goals & 17 assists). The Sharks AHL affiliate the San Jose Barracuda are coming off a 4-2 loss to the Ontario Reign on Sunday afternoon. The Barracuda return to action tomorrow afternoon at home against the Stockton Heat.
