Head-To-Head - The Utah Grizzlies took back to back games against the Allen Americans to even the season series at 2-2. The two clubs will meet one more time after tonight. (February, 5th in Allen)
Back to Back - The Americans won the first of back to back home games, defeating the Rapid City Rush by a score of 3-1 Friday night at Allen Event Center. Riley Gill stopped 28 of 29 shots to pick up the victory.
Hello Gordie Howe - With Dyson Stevenson's fight at the end of last night's game against Rapid City, the Americans forward picked up a Gordie Howe hat trick with a goal, an assist and a fight.
Pierro-Zabotel near milestone - Casey Pierro-Zabotel is just one goal away from his 100th career goal. The Americans forward suffered an upper body injury in last night's win over Rapid City.
500 Club - Chad Costello joined the 500 club with his 500th career point in the Americans loss to Utah last weekend. Costello became the second player in team history to achieve that mark, joining Todd Robinson who is also a member of the exclusive club.
Utah Grizzlies Notes - Bryan Moore was named the ECHL Player of the Week on Monday. Moore, currently in the American Hockey League, had a five-point night in a 7-3 victory against Allen last weekend. Utah is coming off of a 5-1 loss in Tulsa on Thursday night. The Grizzlies are 2-2-1 in their last five games.
Welcome to Allen - The Allen Americans made a trade on Friday, acquiring defenseman Mike Gunn from the Wheeling Nailers. The native of Lavonia, Michigan, has two points in ten games and is a plus ten overall.
Around The ECHL - Cincinnati and Greenville combined for 13 goals last night in a 7-6 Cyclones victory. Despite scoring four goals in the first period, the Swamp Rabbits suffered the overtime loss. Former Americans forward Jack Combs had an assist while finishing plus two, with four shots on goal.
