GREENVILLE, S.C. - The Norfolk Admirals shut down the Greenville Swamp Rabbits Saturday night at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena, 3-0.

The Admirals jumped ahead 2-0 in the first frame after netting two goals on their man-advantages. Tommy Mele was the first to hit twine at 7:45 after receiving a feed from Gabriel Verpaelst on the rush. Mele took the puck up the left side wing to cut in, where he then shoved it right through the legs of Swamp Rabbits netminder P.J. Musico, tallying his sixth goal of the season. As Scott Fleming sat for hooking, Norfolk's Nick Pageau threw another between the pipes right on the heels of a face-off at 13:30 with help from Nick MacNeil. Pageau let one go from the right point that zipped through traffic to find the back of Greenville's net, giving the Admirals a two-goal advantage at the end of the opening period.

After a scoreless second period, the Admirals lit the board for a third time just 24 seconds into the final frame when Steven Whitney dumped a pass in front to Scott Allen, who managed to shove the puck underneath Musico. Musico attempted to make the save but to no avail, as the puck went past the goal line, pushing the Admirals up, 3-0. Greenville was unable to respond with any goals of their own, giving Norfolk their second win on the road this season.

Rimmer managed to block all 30 of Greenville's shots on net, earning his first shutout of the year and the first star of the game. Musico saved 29 of 32 Norfolk attempts. The Admirals scored twice during their six total man-advantages, with the Swamp Rabbits going scoreless on eight power play opportunities.

The Admirals will head to their next stop on their five-game road trip to face-off with the Elmira Jackals on Wednesday night for a 7:05 p.m puck drop.
