Allen Americans News Release
Head-To-Head - This is the second trip of the season to Utah for the Americans. Allen came away with two victories at the Maverik Center in late October including a thrilling 6-5 overtime win on October 24th.
Today - The Americans have the third most points in the ECHL, trailing only Florida and Missouri. Allen has the second best record in the Western Conference at 12-6-0, five points behind the top-seeded Missouri Mavericks.
Red Hot - Chad Costello had a four-point game in his last outing before the Thanksgiving holiday, scoring a goal while adding three assists in the Americans 4-3 win over the Tulsa Oilers.
Powering Ahead - The Allen Americans had two power play goals in their 4-3 win over Tulsa last Sunday, and have now scored at least one power play goal in five straight outings.
500 Club - Chad Costello is now one point away from 500 for his amazing career. Costello had the best season of his professional playing career last year with Allen when he put up 125 points.
Utah Grizzlies Notes - The Utah Grizzlies lead the West Division with 20 points. Their leading scorer Ryan Walters is currently in the AHL with San Diego. where he has played one game and is a minus two. The Utah Grizzlies are under .500 at home for the season at 2-4-1, with two of the four losses at the hands of the Allen Americans.
Returning to the Lineup - Danny Federico has missed the last several games with an upper body injury. He is on the two-game trip with Allen and expected back in the lineup tonight.
Around The ECHL - The Missouri Mavericks go for their ECHL leading 15th win on the season tonight when they host the Indy Fuel at 7:05 pm. This also marks the return of former Mavericks coach Scott Hillman, now with Indy. Hillman was behind the Missouri bench for five seasons.
