Altshuller Crafts 21-Save Shutout as Eagles Fall

(LOVELAND, CO) -- The Colorado Eagles were shut out for the second game in a row, losing 2-0 to the Florida Everblades on Friday night at the Budweiser Events Center. Colorado was outshot 34-21 in the loss.

Goaltending stole the show in the first period as both goaltenders were unwavering in net for their respective teams. At the end of 20 minutes of play Florida led in the shots-on-goal department 11-7. The Eagles killed off 5 penalties in the period to keep the game scoreless headed into the second.

The Everblades broke up the scoreless match late in the second period as Matt Willows buried a shot from the circle to give his team a 1-0 lead at the 18:06 mark of the period.

Florida padded their lead at the 9:08 mark of the third period when forward Evan Bloodoff broke free in front of the net and placed the puck past Kris Lazaruk to give the Everblades a 2-0 lead.

The Eagles pulled Lazaruk with 2:22 to play in favor of the extra skater, but were unable to light the lamp, as Florida won 2-0.
