Portland is 5-0-0-0 against East Division teams this season and they welcome in the last place team in the division on Sunday evening. Do not let their record fool you, however, because the Warriors played two tight games against Spokane and Tri-City, losing each game by just one goal.

Moose Jaw has lost its last nine games (0-7-2-0) and they have struggled on the road this year (4-16-3-0). They have allowed roughly six goals per game in their last five contests, ranking bottom three in the league in both goals for and goals against. 2021 NHL Draft prospect Ryder Korczak has carried the offensive load, scoring 15 goals and 58 points this season. Four of the Warriors top five scorers this season were acquired via trade during the season because they are in the midst of a rebuild and have traded many assets away.

One of the pieces they acquired at the deadline was goaltender Brock Gould in the Brayden Tracey deal. He has made 40 or more saves in three of his eight appearances as a Warrior. On Tuesday of this week, he turned aside a career-high 57 shots against Spokane to earn a point for forcing overtime. The Warriors had Saturday night off and they will complete their U.S. Division road trip on Tuesday and Wednesday in Seattle and Everett, respectively.

Last night was just the third time all season the Hawks had lost by three or more goals. Portland is still second in the WHL in team offense and the Hawks have won five of the last six meetings against Moose Jaw, including an impressive 6-0 win last season. Historically speaking, Portland owns an all-time .760 win percentage at home ice against the Warriors, the third highest among any active WHL Club.

Portland could use a win tonight to stay minimum seven points ahead of the Everett Silvertips for the U.S. Division lead.
