How about last night?

Wonderful.

Two fortuitous bounces on the first two shots of the night gave a nice spark to start the evening and a 2-0 lead. Had it not been for that, the game may have gone much differently. Additionally, the resiliency when Seattle kept inching back in the context was also very much so needed, getting the game in the hands of both the power play and Seth Jarvis. Scoring three on the man advantage is tremendous and of course hat tricks are always worth celebrating too.

What can we expect tonight?

More intensity.

In the midst of last night's goal scoring fiesta was a multitude of hits and scrums that certainly provided the refresher that the two teams still don't like each other. Seattle has some big bodies that can throw muscle, a strong desire to protect their crease and get all up in the one opposite of their goaltender. It's fair to say that more of that is going to transpire this evening and Portland's discipline is going to be put to the test.

New face in the lineup?

Of course.

Last night the team played its first game of the season with a fully healthy roster. Kind of a crazy accomplishment to be achieving in Game #15 of the season, right? Well, just as that takes place, another body departs, with Luke Schelter reaching the expiration of his six-game stint with the club. Granted the team has both Jonah Bevington and Marcus Nguyen ready to slide in tonight, it would've been nice to enjoy one game with the same lineup after a win. Next man up!
