Oshawa Generals News Release
Tonight, the Oshawa Generals welcome the Niagara IceDogs to town for Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Quarter-Final Series of the 2018 Playoffs. The Generals will be looking to utilize home ice advantage as they work to battle their way back and even the series.
This is the sixth playoff meeting between the Generals and IceDogs in the past ten years (2015, 2013, 2012, 2011, and 2008) with Oshawa holding a 3-2 record. While the IceDogs took care of business on home ice for a 2-0 series lead, the Generals will be searching for a win at home where they went 20-12-2-0 this season. In nine of the last ten home games, the Gens have scored four or more goals and went 7-3-0-0 during that stretch. Special teams were a key factor in the first two games of the series with the Gens going 2-for-15 on the PP while the IceDogs went 4-for-14 and scored three times during 4-on-4 opportunities. During the regular season, the Gens ranked 11th on the powerplay at home and as the series shifts back to Oshawa the offence will work to build off the energy of playing in front of Gens Nation.
