ICE CHIPS
The Winnipeg ICE embark on a 10 game road trip starting tonight at the Moose Jaw Events Centre against the Warriors.
The ICE are coming off a 7-5 victory Wednesday over the Swift Current Broncos to conclude a four game homestand with a perfect 4-0 record. Owen Pederson, Matthew Savoie, Ben Zloty, Evan Friesen and Josh Medernach scored as Winnipeg clinched a berth into the WHL playoffs. Daniel Hauser made 28 saves.
ICE VS WARRIORS
The ICE and Warriors will play six times during the regular season (Oct 8 @ MJ 4-1 L / Dec 28 @ MJ 3-1 L / Jan 21 @ Wpg 3-2 SOW / Jan 22 @ Wpg 6-0 W / tonight @ MJ / Mar 22 @ Wpg).
Zack Ostapchuk leads the ICE with five points (two goals and three assists) this season. Matthew Savoie (three goals and an assist) and Zach Benson (one goal and three assists) each have four points.
Winnipeg had a 5-1-0-1 record versus Moose Jaw during the 2021-22 regular season led by forward Mikey Milne who registered 12 points (6 goals and 6 assists). Ben Zloty led the ICE with eight assists. Brayden Yager had seven points (4 goals and 3 three assists) to lead the Warriors.

From October 12th to November 19th, the ICE set a new franchise record with a 15 game winning streak eclipsing the previous mark of 14 games held by the 2009-10 Kootenay ICE.
From October 15th to 22nd, Winnipeg became the first Eastern Conference based team to go a perfect 5-0 on the road versus the B.C. Division since the 2011-12 Kootenay ICE.
Carson Lambos was named the 24th Captain in ICE franchise history on October 6th.
The 19 year old returned from Minnesota Wild Training Camp where he appeared in three NHL preseason games. Connor McClennon, Owen Pederson and Ben Zloty were named alternate captains for 2022-23.
