Oil Kings Announce Support of Orange Jersey Project

Edmonton, AB - The Edmonton Oil Kings will be taking part in the Orange Jersey Project, in partnership with the Orange Shirt Society.

The Orange Jersey Project was established in 2022 and strives to inform, educate, and engage with youth about the history of the residential school system, along with promoting truth and reconciliation throughout Canada and to promote physical and mental wellness of Indigenous and non-Indigenous youth through sport.

During select home games this month and next, the Oil Kings will be wearing specially designed orange jerseys during warmup that feature the WHL's Truth and Reconciliation logo.

The Oil Kings will be wearing the orange warmup jerseys on the following dates:

Friday, February 18 vs. Calgary Hitmen

Monday, February 20 vs. Kamloops Blazers

Sunday, February 26 vs. Winnipeg ICE

Tuesday, February 28 vs. Winnipeg ICE

Saturday, March 25 vs. Calgary Hitmen

The jerseys will be raffled off following the Oil Kings game on March 25 vs. the Calgary Hitmen with 100% of the net proceeds being donated back to the Orange Jersey Project.

Fans will be able to purchase raffle tickets at each game the Oil Kings are wearing the jerseys and tickets will be available as 1-for-$5 and 5-for-$20.
