Gamblers Raise Funds for Autism

The Green Bay Gamblers and Fox Communities Credit Union teamed up this past Saturday (4/2/16) to raise awareness and funds for autism. The game raised $8,134 for the Autism Society of Wisconsin. The money raised came via ticket sales, 50/50 raffle, in-game auction and local businesses taking part in the Goals for Autism campaign. A crowd of 4,917 saw the Gamblers prevail 2-0 over Team USA.

The Goals for Autism campaign included the following businesses; Central Alliance Credit Union, Design Air, Faith Technologies, Ferguson Enterprises, Goodwill Industries of Northeast Central Wisconsin, Larsen Engineering of Appleton and the Green Bay Gamblers. Each business donated $100.00 for each Gambler goal.

The game began with the singing of the national anthem, performed by the Wisconsin Early Autism Project (WEAP). The Wisconsin Early Autism Project is a program and clinic for the treatment of children with autism. WEAP provides ongoing therapeutic treatment through its local clinics for families in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Malaysia, and Vancouver as well as training workshops with follow-up supervision for families in other parts of the United States and the world.

It marked the 3rd year that the Gamblers and Fox Communities Credit Union teamed up to raise funds for the Autism Society of Wisconsin. The Autism Society of Wisconsin (ASW) is dedicated to improving the lives of all affected by autism in Wisconsin. ASW provides information, referral, family support, advocacy, professional development, resource development, along with raising awareness and acceptance. The Autism Society of Wisconsin is the voice for autism in Wisconsin, advocating for individuals with autism, their families and those who work with them.
