Gallimore Scores Twice, Blades Win 5-1 and End Losing Skid

The Saskatoon Blades, led by Burke Gallimores 3rd and 4th goals of the season, knocked off the Tri City Americans by a final score of 5-1 on Saturday night at Credit Union Centre.

Also adding goals for the Blades were Travis Toomey, along with Josh Nicholls and Charles Inglis who notched their first career Western Hockey League goals. Derek Hulak and Curtis Hamilton each posted 2 assists in the game.

Braden Holtby picked up his first win between the pipes in 2008/09, backstopping Saskatoon with 32 saves on 33 shots. For the Americans, Nashville Predators 1st round draft pick Chet Pickard was chased from the net after allowing 4 goals against on 24 shots. Drew Owsley, in relief of Pickard, turned aside 7 of 8 shots that he faced.

The Blades power play was 1 for 6 in the game while their penalty kill was 6 for 7.

Saskatoon will now look to continue to build off of the games momentum Sunday night when they host the Medicine Hat Tigers. The game is also fridge magnet night sponsored by Dakota Dunes Casino, the Home Depot, Great Western Breweries, and Conexus Credit Union.
