LA Galaxy News Release
CARSON, Calif. (Monday, August 31, 2009) - Following their 1-0 win over Chivas USA that gave them the Honda SuperClasico title, the LA Galaxy will receive a weekend off from league play this weekend. The Galaxy have played a game every weekend dating back to the last weekend of March but will now have two full weeks in order to prepare for their next match, against FC Dallas on September 12 at The Home Depot Center.
Despite not having a game this weekend, the Galaxy will still hold four training sessions at The Home Depot Center as they look to maintain their hold on one of the two guaranteed playoff spots from the Western Conference. LA is currently in second place in the West with 38 points, leaving them two points behind first place Houston and four points ahead of third place Seattle, both of who are also off this weekend.
