Cornell Glen and Simon Elliott Earn National Team Call-ups

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- The San Jose Earthquakes announced today that forward Cornell Glen and midfielder Simon Elliott were called up for national team duty. Glen is on Trinidad and Tobago's roster for two important World Cup qualifiers, while Elliott will play for New Zealand in a friendly against Jordan.

Cornell Glen will play for his country during World Cup qualifying against Honduras in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on Saturday, Sept. 5, and against the United States on Wednesday, September 9 at Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Glen has appeared in 57 matches for Trinidad and Tobago and has scored 23 goals for his country. His most recent appearance was on Aug. 12 against El Salvador, and two of his Quakes teammates, Arturo Alvarez and Ramon Sanchez. Glen scored the game-winning goal in the sixth minute of play at home to earn three points for his country.

Elliott will represent the All Whites for their international friendly against Jordan on Wednesday, Sept. 9 in Amman, Jordan. Elliott has scored eight international goals in his 64 appearances for New Zealand. His last call-up to his national side saw him play six matches in June, including three matches in the FIFA Confederations Cup in South Africa.
