WINSTON-SALEM, NC - The Winston-Salem Dash fell to the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 11-5, on Tuesday evening at Truist Stadium in front of 2,557 fans.

Greensboro (32-25) jumped on Winston-Salem (28-30) starter, Drew McDaniel with Charles McAdoo smacking a two-run homer two batters into the contest. The Dash responded in the bottom of the first with two outs. With two runners in scoring position, Ryan Galanie smoked a single into right-center tying the game at two after an inning.

In the second, Greensboro got to McDaniel again, plating five runs against the right hander taking a 7-2 lead after an inning and a half. McDaniel was done after two innings, and in the bottom of the third, the Dash made it a 7-4 game on two errors by the Grasshoppers defense.

Greensboro plated a run on a wild pitch by Jose Ramirez to build the lead to four, 8-4, but in the sixth, Galanie struck again. The first baseman got a hanging breaking ball from Alessandro Ercolani and demolished it over the berm in left, making it an 8-5 game after six innings.

After the homer, the Grasshoppers answered with three runs in the seventh, building the lead to six and holding the Dash bats at bay for an 11-5 victory.

The Dash and Grasshoppers meet for game two on Wednesday night. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. from Truist Stadium.
