DENVER - Colorado Mammoth rookie Nenad Gajic has been named the National Lacrosse League's transition player of the week.

Gajic was named the league's top transition player for Week 8 after scoring three goals, including a shorthanded tally, and collecting eight loose balls in a 10-8 road win over the Portland LumberJax on Thursday. Gajic also tallied two assists and collected five loose balls in a 15-12 win over the Calgary Roughnecks on Sunday at Pepsi Center.

Gajic leads all NLL rookies with 19 assists and ranks second in rookie scoring with 25 points, behind only teammate Jamie Shewchuk, who has 29.

Buffalo Bandits goaltender Steve Dietrich earned both the overall and defensive player of the week awards and Arizona Sting forward Dan Dawson was named the offensive player of the week. Kyle Wailes of the Philadelphia Wings won the rookie of the week award.

The NLL's weekly player awards are determined by a vote of the general managers and head coaches of the league's 13 member clubs.
