
G-Braves Announce 2011 Schedule

The Gwinnett Braves announced the team's 2011 season schedule today. The G-Braves begin the 2011 campaign on April 7th with a season-high nine game homestand at Coolray Field. The opening homestand features visits from the Durham Bulls (April 7-10), Norfolk Tides (April 11-13) and Charlotte Knights (April 14-15) - all International League South Division rivals.
The Gwinnett Braves are scheduled to play 144 regular-season contests in 152 days between April 7 and September 5. The 72-game home slate includes 14 contests in April, 13 in May, 14 in June, 15 in July, 14 in August and two in September. The G-Braves will be home on July 4th (vs. Durham), Memorial Day (vs. the Lehigh Valley IronPigs) and Labor Day (vs. Charlotte).
Per International League procedure, the Gwinnett Braves will face South Division clubs 64 times, North Division foes 48 times, and West Division opponents 32 times. Gwinnett's South Division opponents are the Charlotte Knights (Chicago-A), Durham Bulls (Tampa Bay) and Norfolk Tides (Baltimore). Teams in the North Division are the Buffalo Bisons (Cleveland), Pawtucket Red Sox (Boston), Rochester Red Wings (Minnesota), Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (New York-A) and the Syracuse Chiefs (Toronto). The West Division consists of the Columbus Clippers (Washington), Louisville Bats (Cincinnati), Indianapolis Indians (Pittsburgh) and Toledo Mud Hens (Detroit).
The three-day All-Star Break will take place July 11-13. The 2011 mid-season classic will be played at Spring Mobile Ballpark, home of the Salt Lake Bees, in Salt Lake City, UT.
