he Ontario Fury, Driven by Mark Christopher Chevrolet, put on an offensive performance to remember scoring a franchise-record 26 goals in route to a 26-3 victory over the Sacramento Surge on Saturday at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
The Fury's victory clinches second place in the division with two games remaining in the regular season.
The Fury only had two players -- including goalkeeper Alexis Apodaca -- to be held without a point. Tiguinho led the way putting up 10 points (six goals, four assists), which is the highest point total in a single game in Fury history.
The two other big offensive producers were forward Tino Nunez and defender Warren Ukah, a recent acquisition from Las Vegas. Nunez had seven points (two goals, five assists) and Ukah had eight points (four goals, four assists).
The Fury started out by getting four goals in the first 8:35. From there they added 10 more goals until the Surge scored their first goal of the game 2:28 into the third quarter.
Six more goals by the Fury gave them a 20-1 lead before Sacramento scored their second of the night. The Fury ended the third quarter with three more goals.
The fourth quarter saw a running clock and the Fury had their lowest goal total of the night with only three to the Surge's one. The goals capped off the Fury's 13th victory of the season.
The Fury also had two short-handed goals on the night. One from Israel Sesay and another from Daniel Villela. They now have four short-handed goals on the season.
The Fury will return to action on Thursday, Feb. 12 to host Pacific Division leader, the San Diego Sockers. The game will be the Fury's final regular season home game and will also be Fan Appreciation Night with lots of festivities in store including the widely entertaining mascot game.
