Adirondack Frostbite News Release
GLENS FALLS, NY -- Scott Drevitch scored the game-winning goal with 4:53 left in the third period, giving the Adirondack Frostbite a 4-3 win over the Danbury Trashers on Saturday in front of 3,362 fans at the Glens Falls Civic Center. The win is the Frostbite's first over Danbury in seven games this season, ends a five-game winless streak, and gives new head coach Dane Jackson a win in his head coaching debut.
The teams traded goals through two periods as Drew Omicioli scored a pair of goals for the Trashers, and Kevin Watters added a pair for the Frostbite, all coming on the power play.
Danbury went back on top 4:29 into the final period as Troy Smith beat Derek Gustafson with a quick snap shot from the right-wing circle, giving the Trashers their third power-play tally of the night.
The Frostbite tied the game at 11:53, as Mike Berry took a centering feed at the top of the crease and redirected the puck past Sylvain Daigle for his 16th goal of the season.
Drevitch tallied the game-winning goal with a quick shot from the right-wing circle, after a great shift by Dave Moccia and Lyon Porter kept the puck alive in the Danbury end.
The Frostbite and Trashers play the back end of their home-and-home series on Sunday at Danbury Ice Arena with face-off set for 7:00 p.m. Catch all of the action on WCKM 98.5 starting with the pre-game show at 6:40.
