
Dane Jackson named Frostbite head coach

GLENS FALLS, NY - The Adirondack Frostbite, proud members of the United Hockey League, announced today at an afternoon press conference the hiring of Dane Jackson as the team's new head coach.
This will be Jackson's first stint as a head coach. He spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach with the American Hockey League's Manchester Monarchs. With the Monarchs, Jackson was responsible for the development of the young forwards within the Los Angeles Kings system, helping them with their progression to the pro game, while also serving as the team's Strength and Conditioning Coordinator.
The 35-year-old, who was selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the third round (44th overall) of the 1988 NHL Entry Draft, played 716 games over 11 seasons, including 45 games in the National Hockey League.
Jackson spent the majority of his playing career with the AHL's Rochester Americans, playing in 246 games with the club, and captaining the Amerks to the 1996 Calder Cup championship.
Dane and his wife Carrie are the parents of one son, Dillon, who is one-year old.
Jackson will make his Frostbite coaching debut tonight as Adirondack hosts the Danbury Trashers at 7:35 p.m. Tickets are available at the Glens Falls Civic Center Box Office, or by calling (518) 798-0202.
