
Frontier League All-Star Additions Announced

Sauget, IL - All-Star managers Gregg Langbehn and Jamie Bennett have announced their additional selections for the game. Joining the East Division team are pitchers Nick Capito from the Traverse City Beach Bums, Jon Kountis from the Lake Erie Crushers, Gary Lee from the Washington Wild Things, and Eric Massingham from the Evansville Otters. Outfielders Sean Mahley and Chad Mozingo from the Schaumburg Boomers, pitcher Rich Mascheri from the Normal CornBelters, and infielder Hector Pellot from the Joliet Slammers have been added to the West Division roster.
Eric Massingham (tied for third) and Jon Kountis (tied for fifth) are both among the league leaders in saves while Nick Capito has a 0.90 ERA in 16 appearances as a set-up man. Gary Lee is currently fifth in ERA among starting pitchers.
Sean Mahley and Chad Mozingo rank second and third on the Boomers in hitting while tying for third on the team in RBI while Hector Pellot is tied for fourth in the Frontier League with 14 doubles to go with a .303 batting average. Rich Mascheri's ERA of 1.29 is the lowest on the CornBelters' staff and he has struck out 28 batters in 21 innings of work.
Hitting coach Shannon Hunt and infield coach Matt Pulley from the Traverse City Beach Bums have been added to the East staff along with pitching coach Brooks Carey from the Evansville Otters. Pitching coach Paul Kubon, bench coach Mike Kashirsky, and hitting coach C.J. Thieleke from the Schaumburg Boomers and Normal CornBelters' field manager Chad Parker will be part of the West staff. Schaumburg's Scott Waehler will be the athletic trainer for the West Division while Normal's Satoshi Kajiyama will work with the East Division.
The 2012 Frontier League All-Star game will take place at The Corn Crib in Normal, Illinois, home of the Normal CornBelters. All-Star events open with a luncheon at the Marriott in Uptown Normal on Tuesday, July 10. The Fan Fest and Home Run Derby will take place that evening followed by the game at 7:05 pm on Wednesday, July 11. Reggie the Purple Party Dude will entertain fans both nights, each of which will feature post-event fireworks.
