Ottawa 67's News Release

The Ottawa 67's weren't able to end their road trip on a high note, falling 5-1 to the Kingston Frontenacs on Sunday afternoon.

Kingston opened the scoring with 3:58 to go in the first period, on a Maddox Callens marker. 30 seconds later, Shane Wright found the back of the net to make it 2-0.

Early in the second period, Ottawa cut the lead to one. Vinzenz Rohrer won a face-off to Thomas Sirman, who sent the puck to the point, and Derek Smyth uncorked a bullet of a shot for his second of the season, making it a 2-1 game,

Martin Chromiak would restore Kingston's two-goal lead a little over five minutes later, though, and he and Callens each added another in the third, lifting the Frontenacs to a 5-1 victory.

Game Notes:

Derek Smyth's goal was his second of the season. Both have come on the road.

Vinzenz Rohrer now has four points in his last six games.

Brad Gardiner led the 67's with four shots on goal.

Will Cranley made 32 saves for the Barber Poles.

Up Next: The 67's return home, Wednesday night, hosting the Peterborough Petes at 7:00pm EST.
