Hamilton, Ontario - With injury-issues plaguing the Otters during their last long road trip until February, it's "next-man-up" for Erie. Next-man-up this time around means '05 Forward Dylan Edwards, playing in his first Ontario Hockey League game later today. Edwards, a 16-year-old centerman from Toronto, committed to the Otters on September 3.
The eighth-round pick of Erie in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection (#150 overall), Edwards joins the team from the Toronto Titans of the GTHL U16. Noted as 'one of the hardest-working players in the Draft', Edwards measures in at 5'7", 150 lbs. as a forward.
Wearing the #11, Edwards played in three exhibition games for Erie in the 2021 preseason, finding a point (0G+1A) and a +2 mark.
Puck drops at the FirstOntario Centre today at 2:00 P.M., as the Otters and Bulldogs meet for just the 11th time ever. The Otters Hockey Pregame Show starts at 1:40 on the Otters Radio Network powered by iHeart Media Erie on JET Radio 1400 AM.
