Friday, July 20 - Anti-Bullying Night with Reusable Shopping Bags
July 19, 2018 - Atlantic League (AtL)
Long Island Ducks News Release
The three-time Atlantic League champion Long Island Ducks open a three-game series with the Somerset Patriots on Friday, July 20.
Game time is slated for 6:35 p.m., with the Bethpage Ballpark gates opening at 5:35 (5:20 for full season ticket holders). It's Anti-Bullying Night at the ballpark, and the first 1,500 fans in attendance will receive Reusable Shopping Bags, courtesy of the Long Island Coalition Against Bullying (LICAB).
"LICAB is proud to partner for our third year with the Long Island Ducks for Anti-Bullying Night," said LICAB Executive Director Joe Salamone. "This night is so important because it helps us reach families with children in age groups more likely to be impacted by the negative effects of bullying and helps emphasize that bullying is not acceptable and if they or someone they know are being bullied, there is help out there for them. We are grateful for the continued support of the community and to the Ducks for their hospitality and commitment to the cause."
The Ducks and LICAB will welcome Julia Tamiolakas to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Tamiolakas is a graduate of Deer Park High School class of 2018 and was chosen as the 2018 Long Island Coalition Community Upstander Scholarship Award which was presented to her at her Senior Awards Ceremony back in June. The award is given each year in partnership with Deer Park High School to a student of whom shows a strong desire to support and accept others around them and who along with a strong sense of integrity has embraced anti-bully strategies and preservation of the dignity of their fellow students. She will also be attending SUNY Purchase in the fall.
It's also a Bowlero Friday! As fans exit the ballpark following the game, Ducks staff members will be handing out coupons for a special "buy one game of bowling, get one free" offer, courtesy of Bowlero.
Tickets to the game and all Ducks home games are available by visiting the Bethpage Ballpark box office, calling (631) 940-TIXX. Those unable to make the game can follow all the action on the Long Island Ducks Broadcast Network. Live streaming HD video and audio will be available via BoxCast on the Ducks' official Facebook page, YouTube channel and at LIDucks.com.
