French Makes Toast of Squirrels as Goats Win 12-2

Hartford, Conn- The Hartford Yard Goats defeated the Richmond Flying Squirrels by the score of 12-2 on Tuesday night at Dunkin' Donuts Park. Yard Goats starter Parker French cruised in eight scoreless innings while earning his fourth win of the season. Hartford scored five times in the third inning, added three more runs in the fourth inning and Dillon Thomas' 3-run homer highlighted a four run eighth inning as the Yard Goats won for the third consecutive game.

The Yard Goats scored five times in the third inning off Richmond starter Sam Coonrod. Back to back walks and an error helped ignite the rally. Ryan McMahon had an RBI double making it 2-0 Hartford and Josh Fuentes followed with an RBI double to put the Yard Goats ahead 3-0. The next two runs came on infield outs by Dillon Thomas and Omar Carrizales.

The Yard Goats added three more runs in the fourth inning to take an 8-0 lead. Two more walks from reliever Luis Pino set the table for Ashley Graeter's 2 RBI double and McMahon's RBI double.

Hartford scored four runs in the eighth inning, highlighted by a 3-run home run by Dillon Thomas, his 6 th homer of the season. Thomas ended the evening with 4 RBI>

The Yard Goats continue the 3-game series against the Flying Squirrels on Wednesday night at 7:05 at Dunkin' Donuts Park. LHP Sam Howard will start for the Yard Goats while Cory Taylor pitches for Richmond. The broadcast can be heard on AM 1410 WPOP or on iheart radio.
