Fraser Named Runner-Up for ECHL Weekly Award

NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. - The ECHL announced Tuesday that rookie defenseman Jamie Fraser was runner-up for In Glas Co's player of the week.

Fraser returns to the Stingrays this season after joining the team during the playoff push last year. This past week, Fraser played in four games, scoring five points off two goals and three assists. For the season, the Sarnia, ON native is tied for third on the team in points with 12 (2g, 10a). Fraser's 12 points places him 4th in the league for rookies in scoring, only one point behind the leader, as well as 4th in the league for defensemen. His ten assists places him 1st in the league for rookies and third for defensemen.

The Stingrays play at home this weekend. It's Family Fun Friday at the Stingrays game as they take on the Charlotte Checkers at 7:05 p.m. For only $44 fans can get four tickets to the game, four hotdogs, four sodas and a program. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Come back to the North Charleston Coliseum on the following night and be a part of the Dunkin' Donuts Million Dollar Chuck-a-Puck. The fan closest to the bullseye gets the chance to go down on the ice after the game and shoot a puck for million bucks. You must be 18 years of age or older to be eligible. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for season ticket holders and 6 p.m. for the general public. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
