
Fransz' Seventh Innning Blast Not Enough, Captains Win 9-5

The Captains jumped out in front for the fourth consecutive game, getting back to back singles from Argenis Reyes (3-6, 2R) and Brian Finegan (3-5, 2B). Brian Barton continued to shine, doubling in the 1st run of the game. Shorebirds starter (P) Luis Ramirez lasted only 3 innings giving up a five run third. The âBirds trailed 7-2 until the bottom of the seventh when Jason Fransz hit a three run homerun. The Captains added two more in the top half of the eight to defeat Delmarva 9-5.
Side note: Three Shorebirds had three hits apiece: Fransz 3-5 (HR, 4 RBI), Eric Grimm 3-5 (2B, 3R), and Matt Houston (3 singles)
