Fowler, Fisher Cats Cats Shut Out Rock Cats

June 21, 2007, New Britain, CT - New Hampshire's Eric Fowler impressed in his Double-A debut as the Fisher Cats downed the Rock Cats 2-0 at New Britain Stadium.

Fowler (1-0) fired six shutout innings. The Rock Cats managed just five hits off of the 24-year-old lefthander, who is ranked as Toronto's 11th best prospect. Jean Machi picked up where Fowler left off and fired three shutout innings of his own to notch his second save.

Rock Cats' starter Kyle Waldrop (1-4) allowed ten hits, but limited the Fisher Cats to one run through six innings. The Fisher Cats broke through in the fifth inning with an RBI single by Sergio Santos for a 1-0 lead.

In the ninth, the Fisher Cats' Dustin Majewski doubled off reliever J.P. Martinez (3IP, 3H, 1R) to open the inning. Majewski advanced to third on a passed ball by catcher Kyle Geiger. Ryan Klosterman's sac fly to center field scored Majewski.

The Fisher Cats pounded out 13 hits, led by a three-hit night by Chip Cannon. For the Rock Cats, Trevor Plouffe and Brock Peterson had two hits apiece.
